A fire Tuesday night in Bayou La Batre resulted in death for two area residents and injury to a third.
Thirty-two year old Thuy Thai and thirteen year old But Troung were killed Tuesday night around 9:40 when fire destroyed their home at 13915 Mars Avenue. Ms. Thai's ex-husband, Hoc Troung, was critically injured and is undergoing treatment at USA Burn Center in Mobile.
Autopsies are being performed today by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to determine the specific cause of death of Ms. Thai and her son. Criminal charges are pending following a determination by the Bayou La Batre Police Department and the State Fire Marshals Office that the fire was intentionally set.
