An 89-year-old Macon County resident lost her life this morning in a fire on County Road 9.
Louise Brown Hall died this morning when a fire destroyed her home at 1025 County Road 9 near Franklin, AL. Firefighters from the Franklin and Tallassee Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the fire, but were unable to save Mrs. Hall.
An investigation by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshals Office revealed the fire originated at a wood burning heater. It is unknown at this time if any operable smoke alarms were present in the home at the time of the fire.
