Clarke County Resident Dies in Fire

Irma Fox, age 97, of 15 Cresthaven Road died this morning during a fire at her home. The fire occurred between 12:30 and 1:00 AM, resulting in the response of the Alma Volunteer Fire Department and the Jackson Fire Department. At least one smoke detector/alarm was present in the home. The cause of the fire and death are under investigation by the Clarke County Coroner’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.
