A house fire at 1209 East 9th Street has claimed the life of one resident.
Harold Donald Langham was killed when fire destroyed his home sometime between 8:35 PM February 22 and 3:30 PM February 23. The fire was not discovered until Tuesday afternoon when one of Mr. Langham's sons passed his father's home and saw it burned. The Bay Minette Fire Department was notified at 3:30pm.
Mr. Langham was last seen alive around 8:35pm Monday by a second son. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Bay Minette Fire Department and the State Fire Marshals Office. It is also unknown if the home was equipped with an operable smoke alarm.
An autopsy is scheduled by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to determine the exact cause of death.
