One person died Friday December 6th around 1:00 PM during a fire at their home at 5286 County Road 45 near Fort Deposit.
Sarah Sellers, age 63, died after she apparently fell asleep in a living room chair while smoking. Ms. Sellers had been in poor health and was known to have had similar accidents in the past.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama State Fire Marshals Office investigated the fire and death.
