Sylacauga Explosion Claims One

A 2:57 PM explosion at the Butane and Propane Gas Company (Propane Gas Company) facility February 22 has left one person head and a second seriously injured.

The explosion, at 218 East Coosa Street, has claimed the life of William Bradford, while seriously injuring Victor Headen. Mr. Bradford was an employee at the company, while Mr. Headen was the driver of a pickup truck which arrived at the property shortly before the explosion. Both men were airlifted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Burn Center Monday afternoon. Mr. Bradford passed away at 5:00am today.

The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation by the Alabama Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board.
