One child was killed and two injured in a fire in rural Covington County this afternoon. The names of the children and the condition of those injured, is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Fire departments were notified of the fire involving a doublewide mobile home located on County Road 479 around 3:30 PM. A fourteen-year boy is credited with rescuing the two injured children who are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Local authorities and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office are currently investigating the fire and death.
