An eight-year-old child died Thursday night during a fire at 2155 County Road 388 in Valley. A nine-year-old and a four-year-old child were injured in the fire. The older child was transported to a hospital in Birmingham for treatment, while the younger child was treated at the Valley Hospital.
Two adults and six children were in the home at the time of the fire. The home consisted of two older singlewide mobile homes that were joined together.
Investigators from the Valley Police Department, Lee and Chambers County Fire Departments, the Chambers County Coroner’s Office, and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office are investigating the cause of the fire, death and injuries.
