Lee County resident John Tillman Davis age 78 died Tuesday December 16th, during a 6:00 P.M. fire at his home. The singlewide mobile home, located at 2756 Lee Road 140, was destroyed by the fire.
Investigators with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office say the victim was able to escape the burning home and asked a neighbor to call 911, then returned to retrieve personal property from his burning home. The victim, who lived alone, was found in a bedroom.
The investigation into the specific cause of the fire and death continues.
