Hunting Camp Fire Claims One Life

One person died this morning when fire destroyed the 24-foot camper trailer where he slept at the Painted Creek Hunting Club in Coosa County.  Kevin Paul Liddell, age 40, of 470 Fish Trap Road, Cropwell, AL died during the fire despite efforts by another camp member to rescue him.

Investigators with the Coosa County Sheriff Office, Coosa County Coroner’s Office, Marble Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office say the fire was reported at 3:58 A.M..

The body of the victim has been turned over to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.  The investigation into the specific cause of the fire and death continues.
