An accidental fire at Woodside Condominiums on Shadowood Circle in Center Point Saturday night heavily damaged one apartment building containing ten apartments and caused minor damage to a second building.

Center Point Fire District responded to the fire at 7:36 PM February 26. The fire took several hours to control and resulted in injuries to one firefighter who was treated for smoke inhalation.

Investigators from the Center Point Fire District, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshals Office identified the apartment of origin as apartment 27-C. Investigators further identified the cause of the fire as food left cooking on an unattended electric stove.
