A 63 Year old Cherokee county man was arrested September 16, 2009 and charged with Solicitation to Commit Arson, Second Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Arson Second Degree; both Class C felonies. Recently,the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department received a tip that an area businessman was conspiring to have a local convenience store burned. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Jeff Thomas Jordan, 63 of Jordan Drive in Centre. In addition to Jordan's arrest, $3000 in cash and a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck were also siezed and Jordan was placed in the Cherokee County Jail. He was arrested without incident.
