Notice is hereby given that a hearing will be
held at 10 a.m. Central Time, on Thursday, November 13, 2014, in the
offices of the Alabama Department of Insurance, 201 Monroe Street, Fifth Floor
Conference Room, RSA Tower, Montgomery, Alabama, as follows:
Adoption
of new Preneed Regulation No. 3 [Chapter 482-3-003], setting forth the
standards and requirements for the sale of preneed funeral and cemetery
merchandise and services and operation of endowment care cemeteries by cemetery
authorities. The proposed
effective date of this new regulation is January 1, 2015, which will coincide
with the effective date of the proposed repeal of existing Preneed Regulation
No. 1 [Chapter 482-3-001]. (29 pages)
Adoption of new
Preneed Regulation No. 4 [Chapter 482-3-004], setting forth the standards and
requirements relating to funding methods for preneed contracts for funeral and
cemetery merchandise and services and operations of endowment care cemeteries
by cemetery authorities. (21 pages)
Adoption of new
Preneed Regulation No. 5 [Chapter 482-3-005], setting forth the standards and
requirements relating to record keeping by preneed certificate holders and
cemetery authorities operating endowment care cemeteries. (10 pages)
Repeal of Preneed
Regulation No. 1 [Chapter 482-3-001], entitled Accounting Requirements and
Record Keeping for Preneed Funeral and Cemetery Providers, which originally
became effective September 3, 2004. The
provisions of this regulation will be superseded by the provisions of proposed
new Preneed Regulation No. 3 [Chapter 482-3-003]. The proposed effective date of the repeal of
this regulation will coincide with the effective date of new Preneed Regulation
No. 3. (34 pages)
